Should I order the
Cabled or Wireless Universal Reprogrammer II?

Do I go cabled, or wireless?  As with anything, there are benefits and drawbacks to both methods.

Cabled USB Connection

With the Cabled Model the Universal Reprogrammer II is plugged into both the USB port of the PC and the diagnostic connector of the vehicle.

Benefits

Less expensive than Wireless Connection

Potential Drawback

Cable length - The vehicle to be reflashed must be parked where it can be reached by the cables that gets attached between the PC and the vehicle's diagnostic connector.

Wireless 802 11 b/g Connection

With the Wireless Model the Universal Reprogrammer II is plugged into the diagnostic connector of the vehicle and then communicates wirelessly with the PC.  It can also be used as a Cabled Connection, if desired.

Benefits

Mobility and freedom to be productive from any location throughout the shop since using this device eliminates the need for cables between the vehicle and the PC.

Work comfortably inside -- leave bad weather outside

Allows technician to reflash vehicle without having to go to the vehicle

Allows high-volume shops to move customers through quickly

Reduces liability from people tripping on cables and vehicle body damage caused by cables between the vehicle and PC
